Iredell Search & Rescue (ISAR) and Mooresville Rescue Sq helped searched Saturday December 18,2010 for the missing woman in Burke County suffering from Alzheimer's. A Team of 8 men and ladies, Our Tracking Dog,2 ATV's (4-wheels),ISAR off road ATV along with Mooresville Rescue Sq off road bobcat left am hours to help assist in the search. We had two assignment's...The first one was a grid search with a team of 15 and our search dog...Less than a 1/4 mile from her home...The woods was like a small mountain with two small creeks, one open field and a pond. The second one was across from the church...Fields, a Pond, a plant nursery and also a fence line...It was getting dark so fast so we had to move fast with safety first in mind...We unloaded the 4 ATV's for this off road search...and hit the fields..So we search this area from north to south and east to west...The fields had a lot of 3 to 4 ft holes in it...From the plants being taken out from the nursery business...Around 6:30 pm she was found and also with bad news...PLEASE Keep her (Betty's)family in your prayers...SPECIAL THANKS to all the Search Teams, Rescue Sq, Fire Dept, EMS, Burke Co EM, Sheriff/Police/Law, SHP, State K9,West End VFD and all the ladies/men that feed us and all the volunteer's...God Bless you all and Be Safe to we all meet again
