Head On Collision
Hwy 21 at Byers Rd

A head-on collision between a pick up truck and a passenger car caused a pin-in of one of the patients.  The roads were wet and cause of the accident has not been determined.  Speed limit at the location is 45 reducing to 35 mph.  The patient from the pickup was free upon my arrival and the driver of the car was pinned in his vehicle.  The extrication took approx 1 hour to get the patient extracted.  Due to the rain, unable to get a helicopter to the scene.  A large amount of beer was found the passenger car, but cannot say that was a factor.  Troutman Fire/Rescue, Iredell Rescue, West Iredell Fire, Iredell County EMS and Highway Patrol were dispatched.
