Car vs. Bridge - Fatality

Rescue units were called at about 4am for a report of a vehicle hitting the bridge on Triplett Rd.  Units from Troutman Fire & Rescue, Wayside Fire Dept, Iredell County EMS responded to the scene.  The vehicle appeared to have lost control and the rear of the vehicle hit the bridge, shearing the rear end off the vehicle.  The driver was wearing his seatbelt but was ejected out the back of the vehicle.  Rescue workers checked the area for other passengers but did not locate anyone.  The NC SHP is investigating the accident.
