Overturned Boat
Broadview Cir/Fern Hill Rd

The first report was of a boating accident on Lake Norman near Stumpy Creek Access landing. As units arrived, the location was found to be at Broadview Cir off Fern Hill Rd. The boat had been used for camping and fishing by 4 subjects who were returning to the landing. The boat was overloaded and a wave came over the bow, swamping the boat and causing the boat to sink. Other boats helped get the equipment out of the sinking boat and the gas tank was removed before any environmental damage was done. A rescuer on a jet ski helped get a rope out to the boat and it was pulled into land. There were no injuries. Units from Iredell County EMS, Iredell County Sheriff Dept, Troutman Fire & Rescue, Shepherds Fire Dept, Mooresville Rescue and NC Wildlife responded to the scene.

The victims hang on to the boat as rescuer checks them out.	The bow of the boat was all that was above water.	EMS and Sheriff Dept update communications and responding boats from the shore.

A number of watchers ventured out and righted the boat.	The boat is nearly back upright.	Getting as close to the shore as possilbe.
The tent was still in the boat and put on bow.	As water is bailed out, the boat floats a little higher.	Just about to get it to be towed back to the landing.
