ATV Accident
Ostwalt Amity Rd at Arthurs Rd

The incident came into dispatch around 2am of an accident with injuries.  Medical & Fire/Rescue personnel were activated to respond to the scene.  The air ambulance from Baptist was requested.  When units arrived on the scene, they found that there were two ATV's in the woods and two victims.  The first appeared to be in critical condition and was set up to be airlifted from the scene.  The second victim was walking and talking on the scene.  Both subjects appeared to have been drinking.

Possible scenario is that they were going down the road at a high rate of speed when the first subject lost control of his ATV causing him to hit the road giving him quite bad road rash.  The second ATV did not see the first rider in the roadway, and hit the victim, sending his ATV into the woods as well.  Both victims were transported to the hospital.

Units from Troutman Fire & Rescue, 2 EMS ambulances and QRV from Iredell County EMS, Troutman Police Dept, and NC SHP responded to the scene.
