Truck vs. Train

The morning of April 20th a tractor trailer got hung on the
tracks at Hardwood Sales in Conover NC and was unable to get Norfolk Southern in
time to stop an oncoming train which struck the tractor and bursting it into
flames. No one was injured. The Conover Fire Dept. responded with assists from
Newton Fire, Newton Conover Rescue, Conover PD and Catawba County EMS.
Also the Port a Pit chicken for Derek was a success, selling 1000 plates and
with donations should make over $3,000 for his trust fund.
