Car vs. telephone pole and tree
This incident occurred late at night as a vehicle with 3
people in it lost control and hit a telephone pole, snapping it off and then
hitting a tree. Two of the people were seriously injured and one was DOA.
The power lines were down on the vehicle and were still hot. It took about 30
minutes for the power company to arrive and cut power so extrication of the DOA
could be done. West Iredell Fire, Troutman Fire & Rescue, Iredell County
Rescue, Iredell County Sheriff, and NC State Patrol responded.
