Derek is a member of Catawba and West Iredell Fire Departments. He was injured in a vehicle accident while leaving arson related grass and woods fire on March 24^th 2007 and was paralyzed from the chest down. Derek as been in Baptist Hospital and Charlotte Medical Center rehab since his accident, the only insurance Derek has is the Workers Compensation from the Catawba Fire Department. 

All money raised goes to the Derek Poole
