REF: Update Firefighter Poole Injury
Firefighter (FF) Poole was transferred at approximately 3:00 pm to Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem on Sunday. He is on the ICU 5c floor at this time.
Doctor’s reevaluated his situation and as of 10:00 pm Sunday night we were informed that they will do surgery on his neck sometime today. They cannot say if the surgery will improve his situation or not. He has a fracture between his C-4 and C-5. They placed his shoulder back in place on Sunday morning in the operating room at Catawba Valley prior to his transfer.
We are having hard time finding family a place to stay due to the furniture mart but we are getting help from other firefighters from the area.
Again, please keep the FF Poole and his family in your prayers.
We have members going down today and tonight to be with family, I will update you when I get results from today’s surgery.
